Test No Software Before it Ships!

Below is a comment from this article on the daily WTF

“We can’t spend all of our time on problems which the customers haven’t reported yet.”

Right!

“If there haven’t been any bug reports on something, then obviously they don’t need it fixed yet! We should be focusing on getting the features ready and not fixing some little feature which the customers don’t use.”

I agree!

“Microsoft is always sending out beta versions to users and according to the industry press, they don’t do any in-house testing until a complaint is made.”

Really?

“WE WILL TEST NOT SOFTWARE BEFORE IT SHIPS!”

Wait…What?!

Amazon Kindle

Kindle

I finally ordered a Amazon Kindle, I really wanted to see one before I purchased one but there was no way of doing that so I took the plunge. It arrived a few days back and so far I have been very impressed. To start with it just feels right. It has a old iPod style brush aluminum back that feels classy and the screen on the thing just looks great. I have had some issues getting PDF docs looking right but after a bit of playing around and downloading calibre Its getting better. The books I have downloaded from the amazon store have been great so far.

Learning 2 guitar songs over the holidays

Posted By Tom / December, 31, 2009

I signed up for the 3 day trail at Guitar Jamz over the Christmas period to get myself some new songs to practice. The guy that does the videos teaches you a band style rather than a song which works out really well. I have been learning the barenaked ladies and Jack Johnson progressions and really enjoying.

Barenaked ladies Progression

The strumming pattern is dduudu

The chord progression is:

Main part of the song G – D – F+7

Then C – D, then a G walkdown(?)

Jack Johnson Progression

Strumming Pattern dud uu udu

The chords progression is

dud uu udu (G)

dud (C) uu udu(D)

There are some percussive clicks in there somewhere but I still working on getting that bit right.
