The Machine SID Duplication Myth

Mark Russinovich has a article on his blog about SID’s and SID duplication. It nicely explains SID’s and how they fit in in with the OS.

We have been running New SID on all of our machines before install. It seemed to resolve a issue we were having but looks like it was probably just covering up a issue ( or the issue was resolved by some another change and we did not notice ).
